Assistant Nurse Manager

Location: Norwell/Plymouth

Hours: Full time/Business Hours

Description of open position: Assistant manager position is an LPN/RN who functions as a clinical resource for staff.  Assistant Manager will coordinate with nurse manager to ensure Standards of Care/Standards of Practice are maintained.  The assistant manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the clinical support staff on a daily basis.  Will assist in the coordination with medical staff schedules so that there is adequate coverage at all times.  Assistant at times will need to assist when short staffed. In conjunction with Clinic Nurse Manager, oversee and update nursing/medical assistant training and orientation program. The responsibility includes assisting with Interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, and evaluating clinical support staff.  Assistant must have effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.  Maintain a confidential and professional manner in all aspects of personnel management.

Qualifications/ Minimal requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.

Work requires current LPN/RN license.

A minimum of 5 years clinical experience is required (preferably in dermatology).

Supervisory or Managerial experience needed.

CPR certification required.

Office Nurse

Location:  Norwell/Plymouth offices

Hours:  36-38 hours

Description of open position: 

The Office Nurse will assist the provider(s) with patient care.  Create an atmosphere that reflects the optimal level of standard and care that is expected at SSSC. Provide courteous, competent, efficient and professional nursing skills to meet the needs of the patient and practice. This includes assessing patient concerns and relaying them to the provider to ensure that the office functions effectively.

As assigned, but not limited to the following:

  • Assists the physicians with procedures and treatments as directed. (Surgical and Cosmetics)
  • Escort patients to appropriate rooms. Obtain, document and record pertinent patient information to include but not exclusive to: health history, HPI, PMH, and vital signs as needed.
  • Document prescriptions for patients in the EMR.
  • Educate patient and provide information as appropriate, assist the patient in understanding information pertinent to their medical care.
  • Set up surgical or biopsy trays as needed and assist provider during the procedure. Anesthetize treatment area as directed.
  • Operate Narrowband, and PTD units as directed.
  • Perform various telephone duties to include: prescription refills, provide test results, and relaying information and messages to facilitate effective communication between the office and patient.
  • Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas.
  • Clean, sterilize and wrap instruments.
  • Demonstrate initiative, cooperation and flexibility.
  • Provide coverage in both practice locations when needed
  • Maintain equipment quality control (i.e.. autoclave, refrigerator, cryostat, ultrasonic cleaning, etc.).
  • Prepare path/lab specimens per protocols; complete path/lab requisitions forms accurately and completely; document specimens in spreadsheet.
  • Document all pertinent information for CLIA regulations.
  • Attend annual OSHA/Infection Control meeting and comply with safety standards per OSHA/CLIA policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Medical Assistant

Title:  Medical Assistant

Location:  Norwell and Plymouth

Hours:  Full Time, 32-36 hours/week, 4 Day/Week TBD Based upon Provider Schedules

Description of open position:  Responsibilities include working as a member of a dermatology clinical support team, providing clinical support to providers including but not limited to: greeting patients, managing patient flow to assure timely patient appointments, obtaining and documenting clinical information from patients in preparation for their medical visit, providing clinical support during surgical appointments, suture removal. Must possess ability to communicate with sensitivity, compassion, and discretion with patients, both in person and on the telephone. Outstanding organizational skills and strict attention to details. Willing to learn new procedures and treatment techniques. Excellent team player, demonstrating initiative and flexibility in terms of tasks performed and providing coverage where and when needed.  Ability to use practice management software to manage daily patient flow, obtain patient lab results and for any other reason needed to complete the job tasks of a medical assistant, basic medical and surgical assisting.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be comfortable in a surgical setting, understand and comply to HIPAA and OSHA regulations, and assist physicians and managerial staff as requested with job-related activities.

Qualifications/ Minimal requirements: Completion of Medical Assistant course including externship. Medical Assistant Certification required.

Title: Histotechnician

Location: Norwell/Plymouth

Hours: 24 hours

Description of open position: Histotechnician that can efficiently and skillfully cut and process tissue specimens from the Mohs patient using appropriate laboratory equipment including the Leica 1850 Cryostat and the Shandon Linistainer.

Qualifications/ Minimal requirements: Certified Histotechnician.  Ability to communicate with sensitivity and compassion with patients. Outstanding organizational skills and strict attention to details.  Prepares routine diagnostic histology preparations using standard procedures under daily supervision and review.  Excellent team player, demonstrating initiative and willingness to be flexible in terms of tasks performed and to provide coverage where and when needed.  Ability to use practice management software to manage daily patient flow, and to look-up patient lab results.
